DBasia.news – Lazio and Inter Milan’s duel at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday (4/10). Inter took the lead through Lautaro Martinez in the 29th minute. Lazio equalized thanks to a goal from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the 55th minute.
Lazio appeared with only making one change from the previous match. Felipe Caicedo was rested and Joaquin Correa filled his position to support Ciro Immobile. Meanwhile, Lazio coach, Simone Inzaghi still had confidence to the four defenders who were featured last week.
In the Inter Milan camp, coach Antonio Conte made four changes. One of them is Lautaro Martinez, who became a startr, partnering with Romelu Lukaku on the front lines.
The host tried to take the initiative to attack early in the match. However, Lazio’s attacking efforts were still messy and organized so that it was easily anticipated by Inter’s stronghold.
On the other hand, Inter did not miss the attack. Similar to Lazio, Inter’s efforts in the first ten minutes also did not present a significant threat.
Opportunities were obtained by the host in the 17th minute. But Correa’s header still bounced off Inter’s goal which was guarded by Samir Handanovic. Two minutes later, Lazio continued to receive the opportunity. Unfortunately, Luiz Alberto’s kick, which was received by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s shot, was still able to be driven by Handanovic.
The score changed in the 29th minute, taking advantage of a wild ball thanks to Ivan Perisic’s stab, Lautaro Martinez was able to kick the ball that Lazio goalkeeper, Thomas Strakosha was unable to contain. The visitors lead 1-0.
After scoring the first goal, Inter had more possession of the ball. While Lazio who were left behind tried to immediately launch a counter attack when they received the ball. Until the first half ended, the scoreboard still showed a 1-0 score for Inter Milan.
When the second half was one minute in, Inter almost doubled the lead through Lukaku. However, the ball from the former Manchester United shot was still contained by Strakosha.
Inter Milan continued to create an opportunity in the 52nd minute. This time it was Lautaro Martinez’s turn to waste the opportunity. The ball from the Argentine attacker was still wide.
Failing to add to the advantage, Inter even conceded in the 55th minute. Taking advantage of Francesco Acerbi’s pass, Milinkovic-Savic who was at the far post jumped and gored the ball towards the goal without Handanovic being able to block it. Score to draw 1-1.
Lazio began to control the game more and to increase the pressure. In the 62nd minute, Handanovic had to try his best to save Inter’s goal from Alberto’s shot. After three minutes, Alberto opened fire again. This time the ball still bounced.
In the upper hand, Lazio actually had to play with ten players after captain Ciro Immobile received a red card in the 70th minute.
Having a superior number of players, Inter tried to take over the initiative to attack. However, Conte’s players were unable to present a threat to the Lazio defense. Conversely, Lazio’s counterattack was easily broken into by Inter.
In the 86th minute, it was Inter Milan’s turn to lose a player after Stefano Sensi was given by a red card. Until the match is over, the 1-1 score has not changed.
