DBasia.news – Raphinha, the 25-year-old player will soon join a new club and leave Leeds United.
Transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein, correspondent for The Athletic, reported that Chelsea became victorious in the race for Raphinha to beat Barcelona and Arsenal.
“Chelsea and Leeds have reached a full agreement for Raphinha! The official offer was received around 60 or 65 million pounds (including bonuses). The main part of the amount to be paid immediately. It was done between clubs,” explained Romano.
“Talks are now underway on the player’s side regarding terms and a personal contract. (Chelsea owner Todd Boehly), regarding that.”
Leeds rejected offers from Arsenal and Barcelona. The latter club could not match an offer from Chelsea, while an offer from the Gunners was rejected by Leeds United.
“More about Rafinha. Arsenal had a meeting with Leeds and made a new verbal offer in the last few hours, rejected by Leeds. Barcelona also called Leeds again but there is no chance to match Chelsea’s offer,” added Romano.
“Chelsea are now working to get the deal done personally as well.”
The personal talks will involve Chelsea with the agent of the player who is also a former Chelsea midfielder, Deco. With this news, Raphinha will continue to play in the Premier League after two years with Leeds.
Packing 9 caps and 3 goals with the Brazilian national team has indeed become a hot commodity in the transfer market this summer. Chelsea won the fight and Raphinha will strengthen the attacking wing of Thomas Tuchel’s team.
