Less active in the summer transfer market, Liverpool feels strong enough

By db-admin

DBasia.news – English clubs have continued their maneuvers to recruit players in the transfer market this summer, although Liverpool are still relatively quiet after signing Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

Central defender Konate brought in for 36 million pounds and it is hoped the club will no longer experience a central defender crisis like last season. Since then no transfers have taken place, Liverpool are focused on extending player contracts.

When Liverpool lost Georginio Wijnaldum, rival clubs purchased players. Manchester United brought in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, Chelsea moved closer to signing Romelu Lukaku, and Manchester City broke a record 100 million pounds transfer to sign Jack Grealish.

Worried about Liverpool? Not really. Fabinho assesses Liverpool’s current squad is already competitive, the Brazilian player reminded that the latest squad has won the Champions League and Premier League.

“The Liverpool squad has won the Premier League, the Champions League, important trophies. We have shown what we are capable of,” Fabinho said as quoted by Goal.

“We don’t pay attention to other teams. City are Premier League champions and Chelsea are Champions League winners. The English team has always been strong and will always fight for trophies. This year will be no different.”

“We will be strong and they will be strong too. Hopefully we can be a little stronger.”

“We don’t pay much attention to other teams, we just focus on us and work hard to be the best,” said the former Monaco player.

The departure of Wijnaldum also does not make Liverpool weak, as there are many players in midfield who can fill the void.

“Gini is a good friend of mine. Personally, I will miss him a lot. And the team will miss him because he played in all the games, he was never injured and is a great player. He is a leader,” added Fabinho.

“Gini is a very special player for this club. For me personally, he has helped me a lot since I arrived at the club. Now he is in another team and I wish him all the best at PSG.”

“But our squad has shown that we have good players to replace him. I think the midfield is the part of the team where we have more players, we have Hendo (Jordan Henderson), myself, Thiago (Alcantara), Curtis (Jones), Millie (James Milner), Naby Keita, a lot of players who could play in this position.

“I’m not worried about that (Wijnaldum leaving). Of course, we will miss Gini, but we have the quality in this group to replace him,” explained Fabinho.
