Lingard created new problems at Manchester United

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United have experienced never ending problems. Mason Greenwood’s case is not over yet, now it’s Jesse Lingard’s turn to make the locker room situation heat up.

Manchester United had just swallowed a bitter pill after being eliminated from the 2021-2022 FA Cup. Minor results were achieved after losing to Middlebrough on penalties.

The defeat made Manchester United likely to end the season without a trophy. Even though the Red Devils have been strengthened by a row of top stars including Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ralf Rangnick as the interim manager of Manchester United regretted Lingard’s absence from the match against Middlesbrough. Even though he has confirmed the absence of the 29-year-old player at a press conference before the match.

“We were one outfield player in the line-up today, so why would I let him have four or five days off?” Rangnick said after the game.

“I would have liked to have had him in the squad, but that didn’t happen. Therefore, it makes no sense to talk about a player who is not available.”

Rangnick is being questioned about Lingard. This could not be separated from the response of the player who denied asking for additional days off.

“The club advised me to take time off for personal reasons. But my headroom is clean and I will always be professional when called upon and give it my all,” Lingard tweeted.

The difference in opinion between Rangnick and Manchester United players is not the first time it happened. Previously, Anthony Martial had also denied the manager’s claim that he refused to play.

This seems to indicate that communication between management, Rangnick and the Manchester United players is not going well. Moreover, word got out that giving Lingard extra time off was the club’s director of football, John Murtough.

Manchester United officials along with Rangnick must immediately resolve this issue. It is possible that these small problems will get bigger and have a bad effect on their performance on the field.
