Lingard’s revival was due to Fernandes’ role

DBasia.news – Jesse Lingard is slowly starting to get back to his best form. The Manchester United player admitted that this would not have been possible without the role of Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes arguably played an important role in dimming Lingard’s career. He has lost his place in Manchester United’s main squad since the Portuguese midfielder arrived, January 2020.
Lingard even had to be loaned out to West Ham United in the second half of last season in order to get more playing opportunities. He then took advantage of the opportunity to the fullest so that he was called back to Manchester United.
This made Lingard have to return to compete with Fernandes. This fact should have made their relationship a little heated.
But Lingard revealed the facts related to his relationship with Fernandes. He apparently always has the support of the former Sporting Lisbon player.
“Bruno Fernandes called me ‘the best player in the Premier League’ in an interview with United. Can you believe Bruno said that!” Lingard said in an interview with The Players Tribune.
“I really love Bruno. He sent me messages of support during my loan period. Getting that recognition from someone at his level is incredible.”
The support from Fernandes seems to mean a lot to Lingard. He seems to be more confident when appearing on the field.
Interestingly, Fernandes has been supporting him since two seasons ago when Lingard started to sink. The Portuguese player seems to be aware that something is wrong with his mentality.
“I even remember Bruno Fernandes coming to me before the game and saying he wanted to see the Jesse Lingard he knew. But I don’t think it’s possible because it’s like I’m not there.”
Lingard’s confession is proof of the harmony in the Manchester United locker room. This is certainly a strong asset for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team to rise and win the title at the end of the season.
