Lionel Messi Leaves, Barcelona’s First Match Has Less Fans

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Barcelona lost its superstar, Lionel Messi, in the transfer market this summer. After Messi left, the fans seemed less enthusiastic about watching the match live at Camp Nou.

Barcelona started a new era on Sunday (15/8) local time by playing against Real Sociedad in the first match of LaLiga 2021-2022. Barca will act as hosts with the match taking place at the Camp Nou Stadium.

However, one of the concerns that surrounds the income is reduced due to the departure of Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain. According to Football Espana, the impact of Messi’s departure is starting to be felt.

Due to restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, Barcelona were only able to sell 29,803 tickets for the first match at Camp Nou. Therefore, Bara invites season ticket holders to do the draw to watch live at the stadium.

However, out of 83,000 season ticket holders, only 15,820 signed up. That way, more than 13,000 others will be sold to the general audience.

This condition is a danger signal for Barcelona. Because, although it still needs to be proven again, the lack of enthusiasm for watching the match at Camp Nou can be in line with Lionel Messi’s decision to leave.

Another reason is that Spain is still in the holiday season. In addition, the ongoing pandemic is predicted to make supporters hesitate to watch matches in stadiums.
