Lionel Messi Talks About Ballon d’Or
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona striker Lionel Messi talked about the significance of the Ballon d’Or for him, but he also said that even individual awards came from team success.
The 32-year-old striker has won the award five times in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo can match his acquisition. Messi said that the award was a great honor, although he acknowledged his teammates were the key to his success.
“This is a beautiful confession and perhaps the most special is the first Ballon d’Or (which I got),” he said.
“That is something that comes from collective achievement. Without achieving all collective success, I will not be able to get this individual award.”
Messi will again be the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or this year, after undergoing an extraordinary performance in 2019 with Barcelona.
The player nicknamed La Pulga scored 51 goals in all competitions for Barcelona in the 2018-19 season, when the club secured the La Liga title despite failing in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
