Liverpool Legend Criticizes Chelsea’s Policy for defending Lampard

DBasia.news – Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard could not stop thinking about Chelsea’s decision to fire Frank Lampard. Gerrard thinks the Blues should have provided him with support, especially during difficult times.
Lampard (42 years old) lost his job following Chelsea’s place in the standings, being in ninth place. Management took a firm decision considering that 200 million pounds was spent in the 2020 summer transfer market.
Lampard became the 12th manager in the Roman Abramovich era to feel the hammer of dismissal. The tradition of changing coaches continues regardless of Lampard’s status as a Chelsea legend.
Many football figures responded to Lampard’s dismissal, including the Liverpool legend who now coaches Rangers, Steven Gerrard. As a friend and compatriot of Lampard, Gerrard defended him and was surprised by Chelsea’s dismissal.
Gerrard was not surprised by Chelsea’s dismissal, as it was nothing new anymore, but Chelsea was impatient in seeing the development of the team and provide support to Lampard.
“I am sorry and sorry for Frank, he is a former friend of mine, someone I really respect,” Gerrard said as quoted by the Mirror.
“Knowing him, he will be back soon. He will clean himself up and prepare to get involved again.”
“I think he will use this time to spend with his family, he obviously has a young family. I am very disappointed for him. I think it is a quick way out on the back of the positive results at the weekend.”
“But I don’t know the details, I don’t know much about him, the relationship he has within the club.
“But I think it is an opportunity for Chelsea to reach out and support him during this period of difficult results, rather than doing what they have done. But Chelsea has a history for that, so it’s not surprising,” concluded Gerrard.
Reportedly the German coach, Thomas Tuchel will replace Frank Lampard at Chelsea. Tuchel was also recently fired by PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) and replaced by Mauricio Pochettino.
