Liverpool not changing owners

By db-admin

DBasia.news – In the near future, Liverpool will not change owners. Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has big ambitions with the Reds.

Liverpool sales rumors emerged in November last year. FSG is openly seeking new investors for the good of the club.

Since then, it has been widely reported that Liverpool will soon change owners. A number of consortia from the Middle East then emerged as candidates.

The signal for the sale of Liverpool became stronger after John W Henry as the leader of FSG as the main owner of Liverpool began to rarely appear in public. However, the man from the United States finally opened up regarding the circulating speculation.

“I know there’s been a lot of talk and quotes about LFC (Liverpool Football Club), but I’m sticking with the fact that it’s just formalizing an ongoing process,” Henry said as quoted by the Daily Mail.

Henry did not deny Liverpool’s plans to find new investors. However, this step did not lead to the club’s acquisition process.

The investors in question are just business partners. FSG needs an injection of fresh funds to make Liverpool continue to compete at the highest level.

“Will we be in England forever? No. Will we sell LFC? No. Are we talking to investors about LFC? Yes,” he added.

“Will something happen there? I’m sure it will, but it’s not a sale. Have we sold anything in 20 plus years?”

FSG has owned Liverpool since 2010. The United States consortium purchased them for £300 million from Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
