Liverpool officially colonized Milan!

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Liverpool officially ‘colonized’ Milan in the 2021/2022 season. From two visits to the headquarters of the club from Milan, namely AC Milan and Inter Milan, the Reds always ended the match with a win.

In the match that took place at the Giuseppe Meazza, Thursday (17/2) morning WIB, Liverpool won with a score of 2-0. These results paved the way for Jurgen Klopp’s team to head to the quarter-finals.

Liverpool’s victory was achieved in a convincing way. The English representative appeared dominant for most of the match even though they had difficulty dismantling Inter’s defense.

Inter themselves were also trying hard to match Liverpool’s game. They had time to gain momentum at the beginning of the second half although in the end failed to be used optimally.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah’s goals in the second half finally made the difference. While Inter, who has the full support of its supporters, failed to reply.

“We can’t come here and expect to have a brilliant day. We didn’t have that but a good enough day to get a result,” Klopp told BT Sport after the game.

Interestingly, this is Liverpool’s second win in Milan in the last two months. In last December, they also beat AC Milan with a score of 2-1.

Liverpool are the only team to beat Milan and Inter at home in all competitions this season. Jordan Henderson and his team mates also deserve the status of the king of the fashion city.

On the other hand, Inter’s turf is starting to not be haunted anymore when competing in Europe. The Nerazzurri have lost twice at the Giuseppe Meazza in their last four Champions League games.

The number of home defeats is the same as those experienced in the last 34 matches in Serie A. This confirms that Inter are currently still lacking the experience to compete in European competitions.

“Tonight’s San Siro was fantastic, the fans supported us from start to finish. I’m sorry that we didn’t manage to give them the result we all wanted,” said Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi.

“But I think we played our best game of the season considering the opponents we faced.”
