Liverpool Won’t Make The Wrong Move Again

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool coach denies that his team will make the same mistakes again as in 2018. At that time they spent a lot of money to purchase new players.

Four years ago, after a few weeks of losing the Champions League final against Real Madrid, Liverpool made a massive move in the transfer market. The Reds brought in a number of high-priced players such as Fabinho (40 million pounds), Alisson (65 million pounds) and Naby Keita (52 million pounds).

The results are immediately visible. In the next 12 months, Liverpool won the Champions League. Meanwhile, two years later, the Reds lifted the Premier League trophy and the Club World Cup.

This time, Liverpool faced a similar situation. The Reds failed in last season’s Champions League final, against the same enemy, Real Madrid. However, Klopp insisted that he would not re-sign players at high prices. So far, Liverpool’s only new and expensive signing is Darwin Nunez who is valued at 85 million pounds.

“What it shows is that we didn’t bring in players because we lost the Champions League final, either then or now,” said Jurgen Klopp, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

“When people say it’s our last season to improve, they’ll probably say we missed 2 big competitions and didn’t win them. But of course we know there’s luck in other ways.”

“We can improve the performance, mix it better, can be different in some moments, more convincing in certain moments, calmer and all that kind of stuff,” Klopp said.

Now, Liverpool are looking at the new season by making pre-season preparations. In the test match against Manchester United in Thailand, Mohamed Salah and his team mates lost 4-0.

“This is the way we play. We have to do the right thing again and again and that’s what I’m really looking forward to. We have to use this short pre-season period,” Klopp explained.
