Liverpool’s Bad Luck Last Season? Klopp Gave Comment
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Last season, Liverpool finished at the third place of the Premier League standing under Manchester City (champion) and passed the final round of Champions League, previously in 2007. But according to the interesting statistic from ESPN, The Reds should have finished as the runner-up.
ESPN, in collaboration with Intel and Bath University, have the statistic measurement called Luck Index. In that index, Liverpool was one of the unlucky teams last season by reviewing 14 incidents, where they should have higher points.
If they were lucky enough and got 12 points, Liverpool could finish as the runner-up of the Premier League standing. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp knew about this statistic. He hoped the luck will change this time.
“What I learned is that you have deserved luck and we will work on that. That we will deserve it even more than last year,” Klopp told ESPN.
“I was surprised about the numbers, of course. I’m not sure I would have thought that. But it felt in a lot of moments last season a bit like that, to be honest. Nobody gives you anything back in that life for that. I didn’t understand how they did it, to be honest, but it looked quite complicated. To explain luck is obviously complicated,” he concluded.
Shortly, Liverpool – with luck or not – have to play efficiently to ensure the winning of some matches to get a 1-0 victory instead of playing well and offensive but with the draw result. This is also known as ‘winning ugly’.
