Liverpool’s low points collection since the 2012-2013 season

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Liverpool’s inconsistent performance in the 2022-2023 season is still continuing. During week 10 of the Premier League against Arsenal, the Reds had to lose 2-3 and this was the second defeat in the league so far.

The goal chase occurred from Gabriel Martinelli’s goal (1′) which Darwin Nunez replied (34′), then Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal the lead in the first half (45+5′). Liverpool had a chance to reply from Roberto Firmino’s goal (53′) before Bukayo Saka’s penalty (76′) gave Arsenal the win.

With this result, Liverpool, who have only played in eight matches, are in 10th place with 10 points from two wins, four draws and two defeats. Liverpool’s defense is quite open with 12 goals conceded and 20 goals scored.

Warning alarms should have sounded in Liverpool. The reason is that with these 10 points, according to Opta, it is Liverpool’s worst points acquisition from eight matches since the 2012-2013 season (nine points). At that time they finished seventh in the standings.

“Do I have deeper concerns (about Liverpool)? Yes, of course I’m not happy, how can I be?,” said Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s official website.

“Your colleague is telling me now that he knows I’m just happy all the time and making jokes, I’m not sure exactly on the Jurgen Klopp he knows.

“But we are clearly not in the mood to joke or be happy. We are in a difficult moment and we want to get through this together and that is what we are working on,” said the German manager.

Another sad fact for Liverpool is that this season they are yet to win an away game in the Premier League, drawing two and losing twice. This happened for the first time since the 2010-2011 season under Roy Hodgson.
