Lorenzo Pellegrini is disappointed that AS Roma Lost to Sevilla

By db-admin

DBasia.news – AS Roma player, Lorenzo Pellegrini could not contain his anger when his team lost to Sevilla in the top 16 of the Europa League on Thursday (6/8).

AS Roma lost 0-2 to Sevilla. Pellegrini said his team did not have a better performance than the opposing team.

“Sevilla played a great match and we didn’t. They deserved to qualify and we couldn’t,” Pellegrini said as quoted by the Italian Football website.

Pellegrini was furious when he learned that his team had to drop out of the European League. However he realized that the incident could not be repeated and it was best now to reflect on it.

“It is best to reflect and think, rather than do more chaos by talking. We tried to do what we did in Serie A, but it didn’t work,” explained Pellegrini.

Pellegrini came on in the 57th minute to replace Nicolo Zainolo. Pellegrini had just had a fractured nose surgery last week and played with a face mask.

“Once I was on the pitch, I didn’t think about anything. But I still had trouble breathing properly even without a mask,” he stated.

On the other hand, the fall of AS Roma from the Europa League coincided with the takeover of the club from James Pallota to Dan Friedkin. Pellegrini also welcomed the takeover.

“This is intended to be a release for us, to prove that we have not been able to prove this season. This must be a new start with a new owner and we regret not giving a win today,” he concluded.
