Lose to Leicester, Manchester United again Received Racial Attacks
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United midfielder Fred has received racial attacks on his social media accounts. This happened after Fred made a blunder in the match against Leicester City.
The Brazil international played from the start in the match against Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Unfortunately, he made a mistake when providing feedback at the back.
The ball was too weak to allow Kelechi Iheanacho to win and score the hosts’ first goal. The final score was 3-1 to win the Foxes.
Unfortunately, the response given was inadequate. Several accounts attacked Fred’s Instagram comments with malicious messages including monkey emojis.
The post that became a field of blasphemy for Fred was when the midfielder celebrated with Paul Pogba when he met AC Milan. Now, Fred has closed the comments column.
This is not the first time that a Manchester United player has received racist attacks. Previously, Anthony Martial was also the target of abuse after Man United played 1-1 against West Bromwich Albion.
It didn’t stop there, Axel Tuanzebe also received similar treatment. The defender is considered the mastermind behind Man United’s defeat to Sheffield United.
Not surprisingly, Marcus Rashford once spoke about racist attacks targeting his colleagues. According to the striker, differences in skin color should be celebrated.
Meanwhile, Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opened his voice over Fred’s blunder. According to him, no one should be made a scapegoat.
“We want to build attack from behind and want the players to be confident. Sometimes it does not work and one of them happened in the game,” Solskjaer said as reported by the BBC.
“When we win, we win together and when we lose, we lose together. So we don’t blame each other.”
