Losing the Champions League, this is Jurgen Klopp’s message
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has told what message is conveyed to his team who are sad after losing in the European Champions League final on Sunday (29/5) early morning WIB.
The Reds ended the season in disappointment as they were beaten by Real Madrid 1-0 at the Stade de France, Paris, and failed to lift their seventh UCL trophy.
Vinicius Junior’s strike in the second half was enough to secure Madrid’s 14th Big Ear, and ensure Liverpool ‘only’ finished the season with the FA Cup and the English League Cup.
Speaking after the game, Klopp expressed his pride in his squad after an impressive season, in which they entered three finals and kept Manchester City at bay until the last day of the Premier League.
“We played well but when you lose 1-0 you have to admit it wasn’t good enough,” Klopp told BBC Sport.
“I told the players in the dressing room, after watching the Real Madrid celebrations, that I already felt proud.”
“But I also realized that I was the only one feeling it in that dressing room, they needed a little more time.”
This defeat was a bitter end for Liverpool, who also only narrowly lost in the English Premier League after finishing one point behind champions, Manchester City.
But Klopp is confident that his team can bounce back next season and compete for important trophies.
“These boys are playing an incredible season,” added Klopp.
“The two competitions we didn’t win were decided by a super small margin – one point, 1-0.”
“Man City one point better and Madrid one goal better, doesn’t mean we are bad.”
“It’s a fantastic group, and we will be back [next season].”
