Losing to Liverpool, Steven Gerrard is upset

DBasia.news – Aston Villa lost 1-0 to Liverpool, thanks to Mohamed Salah’s penalty. This made the Villa manager, Steven Gerrard, disappointed.

In the continuation of the English League, Saturday (11/12) night WIB, Liverpool won 1-0 from Aston Villa. Mohamed Salah scored the winning goal for the hosts from the penalty spot in the 67th minute.

These results has made Liverpool continue to compete in the top flight with a collection of 37 points from 16 matches, while sitting in second place in the Premier League standings. Aston Villa are stuck in 12th place with 19 points from 16 matches.

Aston Villa manager, Steven Gerrard was disappointed. For him, it’s really easy for Liverpool to get a penalty!

“We lost because of an ‘easy’ penalty, if you look closely. Salah was in a duel with Mings, Salah made contact first and then he fell,” he explained as quoted by Sky Sports.

“Unfortunately, games like this are settled on penalties,” he added.

Steven Gerrard mentioned the referee. Aston Villa should also have had a penalty when Danny Ings was also brought down by goalkeeper Alisson. However, this is not considered a violation.

“Ings who was also dropped like that (like Salah was dropped by Mings), we should also get a penalty,” he added.

“I was wondering about it, the referee seems to know better,” he concluded.
