DBasia.news – After appearing unsatisfactory in the first two games of Euro 2020, Spain finally won three points thanks to a 5-0 win over Slovakia in their last match in the group phase.
The result has made coach Luis Enrique thrilled and proud of his team, saying the fans must have enjoyed the win.
Prior to La Furia Roja’s match against Slovakia, Enrique promised the performance the fans had been waiting for, and he proved it in that match.
“How can I not be happy?” said Enrique after the match, reported by Marca.
“The fans are enjoying it and this win is great.”
“We have great staff and the locker room’s atmosphere is great, the team is ready to overcome any difficulties. We don’t give up.”
Apart from being proud of what his team have done, in particular, Enrique also praised captain Sergio Busquets, who made his first appearance at Euro 2020 as in the first two matches he was still positive for Covid-19 and was self-isolating.
“He’s a player who is often misunderstood by a lot of people because he’s been around for years, we’re tired of seeing him,” explained Enrique.
“But he is a unique player and his quality is guaranteed.”
Qualifying as second in Group E, Spain will face 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia, who advanced to the knockout stages as second ticket holders in Group D.
The match between La Furia Roja and Croatia will be held at the Parken Stadium, Copenhagen, Monday (28/6) WIB.
