Luka Jovic Needs More Playtime
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Luka Jovic has discussed the possibility of leaving Real Madrid this summer. He expressed his desire to get more playing time.
The 23-year-old striker has struggled to settle at the Santiago Bernabeu since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019. Failing to secure a place at Madrid, Jovic returned to his former club on loan six months ago.
“My priority is to be in a quality league and play,” Jovic said as quoted by Marca.
Jovic also said that for players of his age, it was important to play regularly in the starting line-up. That’s why he doesn’t deny that he has to leave Real Madrid again, either on loan or permanently.
“I have more time off the field than on the field. If I go again, I want to be somewhere that is quite familiar with my qualities. To make me consistent in the line-up,” he explained.
After his loan spell from Frankfurt ended, Jovic returned to Madrid and trained under manager Carlo Ancelotti. The Serbian player wants to make a good impression.
“I try to leave a positive impression and show my best,” said Jovic.
“The last two seasons could have been better, but a lot has happened. I want things to get better in the end, because I didn’t come to Madrid by chance.”
“I didn’t talk to Ancelotti about my situation. But I have to give everything and prepare as best I can for the new season.”
“You can’t lose anything by being at Real Madrid. You can only win. You play with the best players in the world and it’s a great club. You can’t back down by being in a team like this.”
Reportedly three Italian clubs are interested in using Jovic’s services, including Genoa, Sampdoria, and Serie A champions Inter Milan.
