Luka Modric has Long Admired AC Milan
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, has long admired AC Milan. This was expressed by Milan legend who is currently a club official, Zvonimir Boban. Modric failed to move in the 2019 summer transfer window.
Luka Modric was one of the players who was linked with AC Milan in the transfer market. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur player is reportedly not getting a place in Real Madrid’s midfield.
However, negotiations were at a deadlock as AC Milan had difficulty paying Modric’s high salary. In fact, Zvonimir Boban stressed, Modric really wanted to join the Rossoneri.
“Luka Modric is a true Milanisti. He has been a Milanisti since he was a child and was eager to join us. However, it was never serious,” Bobank told Sky Sports Italia.
AC Milan does need to cut corners throughout the 2019-2020 season. As currently Inter Milan’s oldest brother is under supervision of UEFA related to FFP.
“He does not want to leave Real Madrid after a bad season,” said the legend.
Meanwhile, for the matter of Angel Correa, Milan admitted that the price set by Atletico Madrid was too high. However, the Rossoneri were not disappointed because they failed to get the Argentine player.
“As for Correa, we cannot reach a price agreement and that doesn’t matter. There are also other players that we failed to recruit. Who knows, if the decision is not a good thing.”
“We have a good squad. We have brought in a number of good players and time will tell whether we did things right or not,” explained Boban.
AC Milan has the advantage this season by not appearing in European competition. That way, Gianluigi Donnarumma and his mates have more time to catch a break than other elite Serie A clubs.
