Luuk De Jong is aware that he is not Barcelona’s main player

Koeman is believed to be behind the decision as he already understands De Jong’s style of play as he was both in the Dutch national team.

The arrival of De Jong did not necessarily remove doubts. Although the 31-year-old striker has scored a number of important goals for Sevilla in the last two seasons, there are concerns whether De Jong is good enough for a team of Barcelona’s caliber.

Luuk de Jong’s best performance was at PSV Eindhoven. He scored 112 goals in 204 matches. Meanwhile, his record at Sevilla is 19 goals in 94 games.
