DBasia.news – Daniel Maldini scored one goal as he helped AC Milan beat Spezia 2-1 in the Italian League. The goal created a new history for the Maldini family in Serie A.

It was even more special because his father who is also a Rossoneri legend, Paolo Maldini was there to watch. Not only that, Maldini managed to create a new record in Serie A. The Maldini’s became the first family in Serie A to score goals through three players from different generations. Previously, Daniel’s father and grandfather had done it.

According to Italian Football, the late Cesare Maldini who defended Milan in the 1954-1966 period scored his last goal for Milan in September 1961 against Catania. He became the first Maldini generation to score for Il Diavolo Rosso.

Paolo Maldini who captained Milan after Franco Baresi defended Milan in 1984-2009. Now director of Milan, Paolo scored his last Serie A goal in March 2008 against Atalanta. And now, Daniel scored his first Serie A goal against Spezia.

After the match, Daniel’s performance was praised by Milan coach Stefano Pioli, but the allenatore reminded that the player could still do better.

“The most important thing about Daniel is that he has talent. His technique is good, as is his vision of the game. But he needs to be faster and more intensive in getting out of control,” Pioli told DAZN.

“(Mehdi) Bourabia was guarding him and he needed a few more meters to get out of guard and open space.”

“His first start was against Rio Ave (in the Europa League) a year ago, and he played as a False 9. So this game was his first to start (as an attacking midfielder). He has the quality to make an impact on the team in the future. ahead, and can be even better,” explained Pioli of Daniel Maldini.
