Man City don’t need Erling Haaland?

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool player, commented on Erling Haaland’s appearance when Manchester City came to Tottenham Hotspur headquarters. He believes that if Haaland chooses the wrong club, Man City will still be great even without Erling Haaland.

Erling Haaland has been outstanding this season. Arriving from Borussia Dortmund at the start of the season, the Norwegian striker has scored 25 goals in the Premier League.

However, Haaland’s spurs were not seen against Tottenham. The striker failed to release a single shot. Man City also narrowly lost 1-0.

This sight made Jamie Carragher more confident in his judgment. According to him, Haaland is unsuitable for Man City. The Citizens will still be strong without Haaland.

“Haaland may have picked the wrong team to get the best out of him. As a team, Manchester City have scored the same number of goals,” Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports.

“Haaland scored 25 goals in the Premier League. However, Man City as a team have scored the same number of goals and conceded more. Also, it’s much easier to counter-attack.

“So, Man City are a different team and become lesser with Haaland around. However, it’s not Haaland’s fault.”

“As a football team, Man City will not play from end to end. That is not Pep Guardiola’s way,” explained Jamie Carragher.

Jamie Carragher feels that currently Erling Haaland has not reached his best ability. Carragher believes Haaland still has a lot of room to improve his appearance. Therefore, according to Carragher, Haaland’s impact was not felt too much by Man City.

“I’m not criticizing him. I think it’s great because he’s already scored 25 goals. But maybe what we’re seeing is 60 or 70% from Haaland.”

“We don’t see his strength and speed. In fact, it doesn’t matter how many goals he has scored, but Man City has scored the same number of goals,” explained Jamie Carragher.
