DBasia.news – Manchester United will bite their fingers over the hunt for Argentine wonderkid Julian Alvarez. Because, Alvarez even closer to Manchester City.
European football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that Pep Guardiola’s Man City were getting closer to recruiting Alvarez. Man City could announce it this January, but Alvarez will only join after the 2021-2022 season ends.
“Manchester City are confident they can complete the transfer of Julian Alvarez in the next few days. This is a matter of details, taxes and additions,” said Romano.
“River will accept a guarantee of 16 million euros plus bonuses (to be discussed) and ask Man City to keep on loaning Julian.”
River want a guarantee of at least 21 million euros, but the price is not an issue for City and also, the Citizens have reached a personal agreement with the player who already has five caps with the Argentina national team.
City will reportedly sign him for five years and it doesn’t matter if River wants to use his services until June, even November on loan while developing the player’s talent.
He is only 21 years old and Alvarez has already won trophies with River Plate and the Argentina national team, winning the Copa Libertadores, the Copa Argentina, the Primera Division and the Copa America.
Like South American players, the River academy product has technical quality in dribbling and kicking the ball. Another plus he plays either as a winger or a centre-forward.
That quality combined with a goal-scoring instinct. At first glance, Alvarez’s performance is like that of Man City legend Sergio Aguero with agility to move and instinct to score goals, but Alvarez is more dynamic in moving through space to the flanks of the game.
