DBasia.news – Manchester City’s right-back, Kyle Walker, expressed the desire of Manchester United fans who want Man City to win the Premier League more than Liverpool. He stated this ahead of the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford on Thursday (25/4) at 2:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.
Man City are currently competing with Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title. Both are two points adrift and City have one match postponed. That’s why Man City can’t lose a single point until the end of the season – so does Liverpool.
The Red Devils will also be faced with a difficult situation. At least from the fans’ point of view, they are ‘more willing’ to see city rivals lift the champions for the sixth time than to see Liverpool, a rival, lift the Premier League trophy for the 19th time – the first since 1990.
Walker expressed the United fans’ wishes after talking directly with them.
“United fans are clearly in a difficult situation. When I was outside and walking around with my dog, United fans approached me saying ‘Better we see City win the league rather than Liverpool’,” Walker said on the Goal.
Nevertheless, the British right-back is confident that United’s players will not just give victory to Pep Guardiola’s men and provide fierce resistance at Old Trafford.
“It’s strange to hear that, but I can assure you United players will not roll out the red carpet and say ‘Come City, score a goal against us’,” Walker added.
“They will make things more difficult because later it will be a football match and they will also fight for the top four, so they need points,” he explained.
