By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United’s match against Chelsea in the Premier League continued to be fierce. However, both teams had to settle for completing it with a score of 0-0.
The two teams looked at this match with different views. Manchester United are in a state of confidence after overthrowing Paris Saint-Germain in the previous match. Meanwhile, Chelsea are still struggling after being held by Sevilla at Stamford Bridge.
In this duel, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returned to play Harry Maguire at the back. Meanwhile, Daniel James and Juan Mata were in charge of applying pressure from the flanks.
From visitors, Frank Lampard applied a 3-4-3 formation. Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner were chosen as the trident of death.
At the start of the match, the two teams still felt each other’s strengths. The rain made the match even more difficult for the two teams.
New opportunities were created when the first half was 15 minutes remaining. The two teams were going back and forth on attacks.
In the 30th minute, Edouard Mendy almost made a blunder that ended in a goal. He failed to open fire on Thiago Silva. Luckily it only produced a corner for Man United.
One minute later, Man United threatened Chelsea’s goal with a long-range shot from Bruno Fernandes. However, the Portugal internationalplayer’s shot was aimed straight at Mendy.
In the 33rd minute, it was Chelsea’s turn to threaten Manchester United’s goal. Pulisic took a stab from the left flank. Unfortunately, the shot from the former Borussia Dortmund player was countered by David de Gea.
Pulisic again became a threat to the Red Devils in the 34th minute. The player took advantage of Fred’s mistake in controlling the ball. However, no goal was scored as Pulisic shot went wide.
One minute later, Man United increasingly endangered Chelsea’s goal. Marcus Rashford opened a shot with his right foot. Again, Mendy’s brilliant performance was still a stumbling block.
Four minutes before the end of the first half, Mendy returned to save Chelsea’s goal. This time, the goalkeeper blocked Juan Mata’s shot.
Until the first half ended, no goals were scored. Both teams played equally strong 0-0.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought on Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba early in the second half. The new power is expected to increase the breaking force of The Red Devils.
Cavani’s first touch almost resulted in a goal. The former Paris Saint-Germainplayer snatched Luke Shaw’s bait from the near post. This action threatened Chelsea’s goal, but no goals were created.
One minute later, or to be precise in the 60th minute, it was Chelsea’s turn to grab the chance. Reece James sent a mature bait to the Man United defense area. However, Pulisic failed to respond to the bait.
Entering the 69th minute, Manchester United returned to creating opportunities. Harry Maguire sent a long ball for Rashford. The striker opened fire with his right foot. Rasford’s action did not result in a goal as Cesar Azpilicueta made an attack.
Ten minutes before the end, Pogba spread threats against Chelsea. However, Silva could still thwart his efforts.
During injury time, Mendy became Chelsea’s savior from being conceded. The goalkeeper made a superb save to save Rashford’s chances.
Until the whistle sounded, no goals were scored. The two teams ended the match with a position of 0-0.
That way, Chelsea has never won in the last eight Premier League away games against Man United (five draws, three defeats).
Now, Manchester United are ranked 15th in the standings after earning seven points. Meanwhile, Chelsea are entrenched in sixth position after collecting nine points.
