DBasia.news – Media from China, Xinhua, wrote a very striking article about the Premier League champions, Manchester City. According to Xinhua, The Citizens are only concerned with the commercial side of their pre-season tour in Asia.
Manchester City appeared at the Premier League Asia Trophy held in China. Kevin De Bruyne and friends face fellow Premier League clubs namely West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, Manchester City get criticism because they are considered not to respect the competition that was held. Besides that, Man City players don’t do much interaction with fans like other clubs.
“The great love of Manchester City supporters did not get a reply at home,” Xinhua opened.
“The Premier League champions performing in China are no more than commercial obligations, less enthusiastic, and don’t care about the host public, different from other teams.”
Pep Guardiola’s squad trip to China has experienced problems since the beginning of the departure. Man City could not fly twice because of administrative problems.
“Today, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers left China with respect and got new supporters. Manchester City left China without both,” Xinhua said.
Meanwhile, from the results of the competition, Manchester City won one victory and one defeat. When West Ham met, The Citizens won with a score of 4-1. Meanwhile, against Wolves, Man City lost 3-2 in the penalty shootout after playing 0-0 at the normal time.
Unlike other big clubs, Manchester City did not take part in the International Champions Cup preseason competition. The plan, The Citizens will face Kitchee and Yokohama FM before meeting Liverpool in the final Community Shield, Sunday (4/8).
