Raheem Sterling
DBasia.news – Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane become the victory stars of Manchester City in the match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Both teams met in the 2018-2019 Premier League match at Etihad Stadium, Saturday (29/9). City manager, Pep Guardiola, believed both players are important for The Citizens.
Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane performed excellently in the match against Brighton. Sterling scored the opening goal at 29′ following the passing from Sane. Meanwhile, the second goal from Sergio Aguero at 65′ was created from Sterling’s passing.
“It is not only goals that are important for a striker. The way he (Sterling) arrives in the box, he wants to score. He was also so clever with the assist,” Guardiola said reported by the club’s official website.
Leroy Sane
Guardiola’s compliment is definitely becoming a booster for Sterling and Sane. Especially for Sane, the Germany player who is reviving from the declining performance at the beginning of this season. At that time, Guardiola was upset with the undisciplined acts from Sane.
“The pass to Sergio was outstanding. It was another good performance for him. Leroy has played really good (in the) last few games as well. He will be important for us,” the manager mentioned.
However, Guardiola warned his squad to set the focus for every match. “Our profession is so demanding, we have to do our best every single day. I want all of my players to be focused,” the former Barcelona coach insisted.
Next, Manchester City visited Hoffenheim’s home in the 2018-2019 Champions League Matchday 2 at Rhein-Neckar Arena, Tuesday (2/10). The Citizens need the victory after the defeat in the first matchday against Olympique Lyon.
