Manchester United are advised to find a new striker and sell Anthony Martial

DBasia.news – English football pundit, Ray Parlor advised Manchester United to sell Anthony Martial. Parlor said there was no development and enthusiasm when Martial played.

Martial (25 years old) has been at Manchester United for six years since being recruited from AS Monaco. Instead of showing the rapid development of the French players’ performance not developing rapidly, Martial was inconsistent in playing.

Martial is also frequently injured and has graced Man United’s bench. This season Martial has only scored seven goals averaging one goal per 333 minutes, whereas last season Martial was able to gain 23 goals.

That consistency that Parlor saw was not in Martial, who was also believed to be lazy when he played, as if Martial had no enthusiasm when he was assigned to play by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“Sometimes he seems uninterested in football in general,” Parlor told talkSPORT. “When he’s on the pitch you have to be prepared to go, try to make an impact if you come off the bench.”

“I don’t know if he was the kind of player he was when he was left, his level of confidence really went down, I don’t see him every day. But it didn’t work out for him as a striker for Manchester United.”

“Consistency is very important in football. If you want to be at the top of the game, you have to make sure you are consistent from week to week, show what you can do.”

“He didn’t do that, for me. He could get 9 out of 10 and then suddenly he got 2-4 out of 10.”

Sell Martial to purchase new strikers

United have been advised by Parlor to sell Martial in the summer of 2021 to purchase another new striker. Because players like Martial are not enough for MU to win big titles.

“You are not going to win anything with a player like that in your team,” added Parlor.

“So Manchester United, as much as Manchester City needs a striker in the summer, they’ll probably be looking to say, ‘OK, how much money can we get for him?’

“How can we sell him? Let’s bring someone else in and give them a chance to play for Manchester United. ‘”

Martial’s official value is currently around 55 million euros. This money, if MU decides to sell him, is able to be used to purchase a new attacker. Moreover, Edinson Cavani would not necessarily stay with MU given the interest of Boca Juniors.

Several names have entered MU’s transfer radar such as Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund), Raul Jimenez (Wolverhampton Wanderers), and Jadon Sancho.
