Manchester United Just Haven’t Met the Real Test

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United is predicted to slow down towards the end of the Premier League this season. Because the ‘Red Devils’ have not faced the real test.

Manchester United is perched at the top of the Premier League standings today with 36 points from 17 matches. MU is three points away from defending champions Liverpool in second place.

The difference can be widened or at least maintained, if MU wins or avoids defeat in the match at Anfield on Sunday (17/1/2021). Yes, this weekend the Liverpool vs Manchester United duel heats up the Premier League.

A psychological war has started towards the match. Former Liverpool player Jason McAteer believes United’s current position is deceptive, as they have yet to face the tests Liverpool and Manchester City have faced over injuries.

“Ole has not faced with the things that other teams have faced, in terms of the number of injuries this season. He has many players to choose from,” he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

The Liverpool player from the 1995-1999 era believes that in the end MU will be left out of the competition. Liverpool and Manchester City will return to be the two teams fighting for the title.

Apart from injuries, another factor that makes McAteer doubt Manchester United is the performance in big moments. For example, the fact that MU was thrown out of the Champions League after losing to Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig.

“At the end of the season, I think Liverpool and Manchester City will fight for it. I think Manchester United will be scattered,” continued McAteer.

“When you look at their results, when they faced teams like RB Leipzig, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Arsenal, they haven’t made it through the challenges of those games.”

“It tells me that, when big moments come, can Manchester United really get over it?” he added.
