Manchester United legend concerned about Cristiano Ronaldo’s news

DBasia.news – From the 2022 summer transfer market, pre-season, to date, the news regarding Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United has always been the subject of discussion. Unfortunately, it isn’t about good performances and goals but rumors of leaving.
The issue of the 37-year-old player’s departure has been around since the summer of 2022 and has grew since he missed pre-season. Man United playing in the Europa League was one factor in Ronaldo’s desire to leave.
However, over time Ronaldo did not leave and stayed. Drama also ensued as the season progressed, such as when he left the field during the game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Ronaldo was silent and did not speak to the media. This made Man United legend and football pundit, Gary Neville uneasy. He asked him to speak up and give clarity regarding his future.
“I think he (Ronaldo) should really speak up, nobody has heard him speak for six months, we haven’t heard from him,” Neville said as quoted by Goal.
“I think the reason why I said before that Manchester United would be better off without him and that he would be better off without Manchester United is that I had high hopes for him, because I played with him for six years.”
“You take ownership of what happens. You don’t leave it to someone else to answer things for you.”
Neville also gave an example when Ronaldo was captain when Man United lost 1-3 to Aston Villa in the Premier League. According to him Ronaldo did not carry out his captaincy duties properly and spoke to the media after the game ended.
“He came out as Manchester United captain and the team lost. Your job is to speak at the end of the game. I’ve been in that position. If you win, the player who scores the goal or the star player comes out and talks,” added Neville.
“If you lose it’s your goalkeeper, it’s your centre-back or your captain. Why haven’t we heard from him? He should have been there to say, ‘This is the mistake we made today, we’ll work hard for next week’ and we will be ready for the next game’.”
