Manchester United must pay 5 Million Pounds Severance Pay if Dismissing Solskjaer
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United are reportedly under consideration to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. If this is realized, there are costs to the Red Devils.
Since being appointed manager of Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not shown the performance he expected. Despite a number of wins in a row, consistency is still a big problem.
This season, Manchester United have never won at home in a Premier League match. The latest, Paul Pogba and his friends were defeated by Arsenal 1-0.
That silly appearance continued to the Champions League. Despite winning in the previous two matches, the Red Devils were defeated by Istanbul Basaksehir 2-1. In that match, Man United’s defense was easily penetrated.
In the end, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position as manager was threatened. Mauricio Pochettino and Massimiliano Allegri are the two names of candidates to replace Pochettino.
To get rid of Solskjaer, Manchester United need to fire the manager. This is because the 47-year manager’s contract still remains until June 2022.
The Daily Star reported that the cost needed to provide severance pay to Solskjaer was 5 million pounds. This figure is printed on the manager’s contract.
Solskjaer’s dismissal costs are relatively cheap compared to a number of previous Manchester United managers. When firing Louis van Gaal, the Red Devils needed a fund of 8.5 million pounds. Meanwhile, to get rid of Jose Mourinho, Man United spent up to 20 million pounds.
Reportedly, the match against Everton will be a judgment day for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Should Manchester United lose, management will take decisive steps by sacking Solskjaer.
