Manchester United must succeed under Erik ten Hag
By db-admin
DBasia.news – David de Gea, Manchester United goalkeeper, says his team-mates are ‘hungry’ to succeed under new manager, Erik ten Hag, despite the Red Devils’ lack of consistency.
De Gea explains how he thinks United are improving under the new manager. Ten Hag had a rocky start at the club, opening with Premier League defeats to Brentford and Brighton, but the team won eight of their last 11 matches in all competitions.
“I think we played better. We won some challenging games, kept some good clean sheets too. That is important for us and I feel it,” said De Gea on the club’s official website.
“The players want it more, we are hungry and that is a good signal, so let’s keep playing well and keep fighting together.”
De Gea made his 500th appearance for United in all competitions against Newcastle, the most of any player for the club since he joined in 2011.
Meanwhile, United are fifth in the Premier League standings after nine games, but their form has been inconsistent.
United came from a poor start to beat Arsenal and Liverpool, but they were faced with a test of reality when they were defeated by Manchester City 6-3 in a one-city derby.
United will face Tottenham in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Thursday (20/10) and then head to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea this weekend.
