DBasia.news – Manchester United have finally officially announced the arrival of Ralf Rangnick. The German national was appointed as interim manager until the end of the 2021-2022 season.
Rangnick’s arrival at Manchester United is actually not something that comes as a surprise. This news has been widely heard in the last few days.
Manchester United are looking for a new manager after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Rangnick then became one of the main candidates deemed worthy to fill this position.
Rangnick agreed to an offer to become interim manager of Manchester United for approximately six months. After that he was promoted to consultant with a contract duration of two years.
“Manchester United is pleased to announce the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager until the end of the season, subject to work visa requirements,” a Manchester United statement read.
Manchester United have strong reasons to appoint Rangnick as interim manager. The former FC Schalke tactician is indeed known to have a good vision in developing a club.
Rangnick is expected to bring Manchester United through this transition period well. He will also be involved in appointing a permanent manager next summer.
“Ralf is one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football. He is our number one candidate for interim manager,” said Manchester United director of football John Murtough.
“This reflects the invaluable leadership and technical skills he will bring from nearly four decades of experience in management and coaching.”
Rangnick’s Comments
Rangnick himself is very enthusiastic about welcoming Manchester United’s offer. He can’t wait to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo and his friends.
“I am delighted to join Manchester United and focused on making this a successful season for the club. This squad is full of talent and has a great balance of youth and experience,” Rangnick said.
“All my efforts over the next six months will help these players fulfill their potential, both individually and, most importantly, as a team.”
