Manchester United qualified for the 8th round of the Europa League

By db-admin – The Red Devils obtained a narrow 1-0 victory in the second leg of the last 16 of the Europa League at Real Betis headquarters. This score was enough to lead the Red Devils to qualify for the quarter-finals with a 5-1 advantage.

Manager Erik ten Hag continued to field many of his key players despite having a 4-1 aggregate advantage thanks to the win in the first leg, but they struggled to penetrate Betis’ defense at the Estadio Benito Villamarin and closed the first half without a goal.

The Red Devils’ deadlock was only broken after half-time, in the 55th minute, through Marcus Rashford’s genius kick after receiving Casemiro’s pass. No other goals were created, despite United’s intense attack in the remaining second half.

Manchester United have now reached the quarter-finals in each of the last four seasons they have played in the Europa League.

Manchester United will return to competing on the domestic stage, by hosting Fulham at Old Trafford for the FA Cup quarter-final match on Sunday (19/3) evening WIB.
