Manchester United Rise from Adversity

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United are rumored to have risen after previously having to accept a 1-3 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Red Devils managed to beat the Championship team, Luton Town in the third round of the 2020-2021 League Cup, Wednesday (23/09) in the morning WIB.

Playing at Kenilworth Road, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rotated the United squad and fielded the likes of Eric Bailly, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Odion Ighalo. Dean Henderson and Donny van de Beek also started this match.

Three Man United goals were scored by Juan Mata (44 ‘penalties), Marcus Rashford (88’), and Mason Greenwood (90 + 2 ‘). The last two goals have come since Rashford, Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes came off the bench in the second half.

Before they entered the match was relatively boring even though United dominated 58 percent of the ball. United also fired 19 kicks and 12 of them were on target, while Luton fired 10 kicks.

Although it looks like it has escaped smoothly, Solskjaer denies it. According to him, United are working hard to beat the persistence of playing Nathan Jones’ team.

“Safe and running smoothly? It’s not safe, they made us work hard for it. But that’s what we need, we need to get competitive play and minutes for our players because usually we are in pre-season after a short (period of) training and pre-season games different,” said Solskjaer on United’s official website.

“So I’m happy with the competitive nature of this game and of course happy to go through it because we’ll get another chance in the middle of next week to get more game minutes as a player.”

Another Premier League team that qualifies is West Ham United. The Hammers under the direction of David Moyes won 5-1 over Hull City at London Stadium through a Robert Snodgrass goal, as well as a Sebastien Haller goal, and two Andriy Yarmolenko goals.

Here are the full results of the League Cup round of three so far:

West Brom 2-2 Brentford (4-5 penalties)

Newport County 3-1 Watford

West Ham 5-1 Hull City

Luton 0-3 Manchester United
