Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s Theory about Barcelona’s difficulties in the Champions League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – FC Barcelona has not felt the Champions League title for a long time. According to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Barca goalkeeper, the club struggled because of psychological problems.
In the last two seasons, Barcelona eliminated AS Roma and Liverpool. Azulgrana had a landslide lead in the first leg, but then always battered in the second leg.
“The bad results don’t come through tactical problems, it’s psychological. One must look deeply into psychological problems. This is why I will never say that this cannot happen to us again,” Ter Stegen told 11 Freunde.
“We are all frozen because there is no explanation. You ask yourself: ‘How can I explain in a way that makes sense how we didn’t qualify after winning the first leg 3-0?’ “
Ter Stegen itself is now the main choice in Barcelona. However, he claimed to have wanted to move at the end of the first season because it was only a spare tire of Claudio Bravo.
“After my first year, I told the club very clearly that I was not happy with my situation. After the second one, I told them things that could not continue like this and I plan to join another club,” Ter Stegen added.
This season Ter Stegen has defended Barcelona in 12 matches in all competitions. He also recorded four clean sheets.
