Marcelo Brozovic officially extends his contract with Inter Milan

DBasia.news – Barcelona must face an unfortunate occurace. Their target midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic, chose to renew his contract with Inter Milan.

As is known, Brozovic’s old contract at Inter will expire at the end of this season. However, the efforts of both parties to extend the ties of cooperation has come to light.

Inter have now officially extended Brozovic’s contract with a duration of four years. The 29-year-old player will stay at the Giuseppe Meazza until 2026.

“A very important day for Marcelo Brozovic and Inter. Today the Croatian midfield maestro, who has been with the club since January 2015, has signed a new contract until 2026,” Inter stated.

Brozovic’s contract extension was protracted. This triggered the maneuver of a number of big clubs who were interested in hijacking him.

In the end, Brozovic chose to be loyal to Inter. He never even thought about strengthening another club.

“I’ve never spoken to another club out of respect for Inter and the fans. I want to thank the club, and I say again, I’m glad today,” said Brozovic.

“I’ve always told my agent that I don’t want to talk to other clubs unless Inter say they’re not interested in extending my contract.

In this new contract, Brozovic will receive €6.5 million per year. He will also receive a bonus that can reach up to €1 million depending on his performance on the pitch.

Brozovic’s role is almost irreplaceable in Inter’s midfield. This agreement automatically bury the hopes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and a number of other clubs who are interested in using his services.
