Marcelo Brozovic’s Contract Negotiations Hindered by Salary Issues

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Inter Milan hopes to soon complete negotiations over the extension of Marcelo Brozovic’s contract. However, this is difficult to realize due to salary problems.

Inter Milan are still trying to secure the signature of Marcelo Brozovic. If an agreement is not reached, the Croatian will leave the Nerazzurri next summer on a free transfer.

According to the latest report from Corriere della Sera, Inter have tried to persuade the player to stay by providing a contract extension. However, the negotiation process was deadlocked due to differences in wishes regarding the salary issue.

In this negotiation process, Brozovic is in a better position than the club. The 28-year-old is out of contract in June 2022, and several clubs are reportedly trying to get him on a free.

To be able to stay with Inter, Brozovic reportedly wants a salary of 6 million Euros per season. This figure is an increase of 1 million euros from the previous 5 million euros, with an option to increase to 5.5 million euros in the following season.

This was certainly rejected outright by the Inter. They think that the demand is too high, even though Brozovic’s role is really needed in Inter’s midfield at this time.

The deadlocked negotiations have sparked speculation that the player is trying to capitalize on his advantage by asking for a high price, but some agree that Brozovic should be given a higher salary given his vital role.
