DBasia.news – Marco Giampaolo saw an increase in AC Milan’s game, despite the fact they only lost 0-1 to Benfica in the International Champions Cup at Gillette Stadium on Monday (29/7).
AC Milan only created 15 chances throughout the match. Meanwhile, there are four more for Benfica.
Benfica broke into Milan’s goal through Adel Taarabt’s long-range shot in the 70th minute. The efforts of Il Diavolo Rosso equalize not sweet fruit.
“Today, the results say nothing because they don’t show attitude in the team. As long as the attitude is shown, I like what is seen on the team,” Giampaolo said on the official AC Milan website.
“In terms of how we play, this is not a defeat. We played attacking and dominated the match. The players did very well, beyond what I expected.”
“Teams need to be accustomed to staying with different ones. It takes time to unite all the different mechanisms. We will see mistakes and fix them,” stressed the coach.
“I repeat, the team is more advanced than what I expected because the players have great quality. They understand, handle things, and easily apply what I ask for,” Giampaolo said.
AC Milan have never won a victory in the International Champions Cup. Previously, Gianluigi Donnarumma and his friends lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
