Marco Silva praises Fulham players
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Fulham manager Marco Silva was estatic with his team’s game during the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
Appearing at Craven Cottage, Fulham were able to take the lead twice through Aleksandar Mitrovic’s brace, but in the second half, Liverpool were able to equalize through Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
Even so, Silva remains satisfied with Fulham’s performance and admits they should have deserved a better result.
“If you ask me if we deserved something more, I think the players deserved something more from this game,” Silva said as quoted on the club’s official website.
“I know Liverpool, who were more clinical in the second half than in the first, had more control over the game, but I thought the organization of our game was great.”
“The first half was good, we managed to block almost all of their efforts. In terms of the organization of the game, our first half was almost perfect. The way we started the game, the intensity we played in the first half was great.”
Silva appreciated Mitrovic and his team mates’s work on the field which managed to overwhelm a team like Liverpool, even Fulham were able to take the lead first.
However, the manager also encourages his team to not be easily satisfied and urges them to stay focused so that they can repeat their good performance.
“I have to congratulate our players and also our fans. To play against a team like Liverpool in the first half, how aggressive they were when they got into space, we controlled all those moments really well.”
“We matched them, and we know they are not only very good on the ball, without the ball they are aggressive.”
“I think we matched them from the first minute to the end. We did very well, and maybe our players deserved something better.”
“It’s only one point, but I think it was a good performance from our team, and we have to do it again.”
