Marcus Rashford Injured, Paul Ince Blames Manchester United

DBasia.news –  Marcus Rashford, Manchester United striker, has been injured. United legend, Paul Ince, said the injury came because United were too dependent on Rashford.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Rashford was not brought into the Man United squad to go up against Liverpool. The back injury he suffered also allegedly requires a longer recovery time than expected.

Rashford, 22, was injured when against Wolverhampton Wanderers in an FA Cup replay match. The loss of the English striker is clearly a big loss as he has scored 19 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions, including 14 in the Premier League – almost half of United’s goals.

Moreover, Liverpool will play at Anfield and they haven’t lost for 51 consecutive matches in the league there. Not only that, Liverpool also have never lost in the Premier League so far.

Rashford’s absence will clearly be a big loss for Manchester United. Liverpool’s defense needs to be at least as cautious as Rashford’s pace, who has also been scoring goals lately.

A different attitude was shown by Man United legend, Paul Ince, regarding Rashford’s injury. Ince assessed that Rashford’s injury occurred as he often plays and carries the responsibility of the team in each game. In short, Man United has been too dependent on him for lack of other quality players.

“Rashford is one of the few players I call a decent United player in the team,” Paul Ince told The Sun.

“He understands the history and level of what you need to be a top player. He is at that level and does (exercise) extra 100 meters – and he puts pressure on his body by doing so.”

“Maybe that’s the reason he’s injured. Liverpool and City can score two goals or three goals and rest their top players – United can’t do it.”

“The club relies on Rashford as they are not able to score without him. Is he a victim of his own success? You could say that, but that’s their current situation,” concluded Ince.

Without Rashford, other options that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has on the front lines and can be played against Liverpool are Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Daniel James.
