By db-admin
DBasia.news – Shola Shoretire made his debut in the senior team of Manchester United during the 3-1 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League at Old Traffrod Stadium, Monday (22/2).
MU manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer entered the 17-year-old player in the 89th minute as a substitute for Marcus Rashford.
Shoretire was promoted to the first team earlier this month. He is a graduate of the club academy at Carrington.
After the match, Rashford, who also graduated from the Manchester United club academy, sent a message to Shoretire.
“Cherish this moment forever, little brother. Your family must be very proud,” wrote Rashford on Twitter.
Shola Shoretire also had a good reaction from Solskjaer after the match. The player born in 2004 is likely to make his European debut when the Red Devils face Real Sociedad in the second leg of the Europa League last 32 at midweek.
In the first leg Manchester United were 4-0 up.
