Martial Is Considered the Cause of Manchester United’s Defeat, Solskjaer Gives a Defense

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial, became a scapegoat after his team were eliminated by West Ham United in the third round of the English League Cup, at Old Trafford Stadium, Thursday (23/9) local time. However, the manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, tried to defend.

Manchester United have positive capital ahead of the match against West Ham. Because, at the previous meeting in the Premier League, the Red Devils brought home three points from West Ham headquarters.

However, Man United actually had difficulty breaking into West Ham’s goal. Of the 27 occasions, none of which resulted in a goal. Meanwhile, The Hammers scored one goal through Manuel Lazini in the 9th minute.

Former Man United player, Dion Dublin, believes that Anthony Martial played a role in the defeat. Playing throughout the game, the French striker only fired three shots.

“We need to take a broader look at Anthony Martial. We’ve said it many times before, but he’s not helping the team’s struggles,” said Dion Dublin as reported by the BBC.

“I want to see him sweat and put the ball into the goal. Martial hasn’t done much since at Manchester United. When you see a flash, it means he’s not doing anything,” Dublin continued.

“His body language is horrible to look at. He doesn’t want to run and work hard as a number 9 at Manchester United.”

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to defend Martial’s appearance. He is optimistic that Martial will rise and come back sharp.

“I don’t think this is the right time to discuss individual performances,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“Martial is the same as the rest of the players. We played good football. We didn’t have a few advantages and he knows what he wants from him. He will continue to work and get chances.”

Anthony Martial did have a difficult time at Manchester United. The former AS Monaco suffered an injury so that the opportunity to play was reduced. In addition, the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo made Martial even more difficult to show off.
