By db-admin
DBasia.news – Martin Braithwaite, a striker from Denmark, gave a farewell message after leaving Barcelona on Deadline Day in the 2022 summer transfer window. He is very grateful for the opportunity he has been given.
Martin Braithwaite still has a two-year contract at Barcelona. However, Xavi Hernandez thinks Braithwaite is not in the plans even though Barca are also missing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Apart from not being suitable in terms of tactics, the departure of Braithwaite will also make Barcelona save. Because, the striker has an income of 7 million euros per season.
“Barcelona and Martin Braithwaite have reached an agreement to terminate the contact that binds the player with the club until the end of the 2023-2024 season,” Barcelona said in a statement.
“Barcelona publicly thank Braithwaite for his commitment and dedication and wish him the very best and any success in the future.”
After leaving the Camp Nou, Braithwaite joined Espanyol. Because of the close proximity, Braithwaite didn’t have to take his family home with him.
After officially leaving, Braithwaite wrote a farewell message on his Twitter account. He thanked Barcelona.
“It is an honor to represent this club. I have always given my best for the fans and the club and I will forever be grateful for the support shown,” said Braithwaite.
Braithwaite joined Barcelona in the middle of the 2019-2020 season for a fee of 18 million euros. He came on as an emergency signing and scored 10 goals in 58 appearances.
