DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo failed to help Juventus when they lost 0-2 to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 which took place at Wanda Metropolitano on Thursday (21/2) early morning hrs. Ronaldo was criticized, but Massimiliano Allegri defended him.
Allegri confirmed that the defeat received by Juventus at Atletico’s headquarters was not just Ronaldo’s fault. The Portuguese pass player was considered to have given the best performance and played well throughout the game.
Unfortunately, this condition has not succeeded in making Juventus win a victory over Atletico in the early hours. Because of that, Allegri felt that hard criticism did not need to be addressed to the player nicknamed CR7.
“Ronaldo played a good game. He was sure of this kind of match. He was not bad at all. We missed the second half as a team. This match will be useful (as a lesson) towards the second leg,” Allegri said.
Many parties so much touted Ronaldo’s name before the match against Atletico Juventus was held. His status, which was once Atletico’s main rival while still strengthening Real Madrid, made many believe Ronaldo would be the determinant of Juventus’ victory at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. His experience is considered to be very helpful for Juventus.
Unfortunately, all those views did not materialize. Ronaldo just couldn’t play before Antonio Griezmann and friends. As a result, Juventus beat with a score of 0-2. This condition eventually led to harsh criticism.
