DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain manager, Mauricio Pochettino, commented on the match against RB Leipzig which ended in a draw. Pochettino admitted that he was very disappointed because Les Parisiens made too many mistakes.
Paris Saint-Germain failed to win on the fourth matchday of the Champions League. The reason is that when they traveled to RB Leipzig’s headquarters at the Red Bull Arena, Thursday (4/11), Les Parisiens were only able to achieve a draw with a score of 2-2.
In that match, Di Rotten Bullen had a quick lead in the eighth minute after Christopher Nkunku managed to break into Gianluigi Donnarumma’s goal.
But PSG were able to reverse the position in the 21st and 39th minutes after Goerginio Wijnaldum scored a brace. Unfortunately, PSG’s victory that was already in sight was dispersed because Dominik Szoboszlai scored a penalty in the second half of extra time.
Responding to the match, Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he was very disappointed. One of the reason was because PSG mae too many mistakes.
“We have seen how to deal with a team that is performing well and has caused us a lot of problems,” Pochettino told RMC Sport.
“It’s our fault because we messed up the start of the game. It’s true we didn’t start well.”
“In the second half, we controlled the game better. Statistics show that we were better in terms of possession.”
“The most important thing in a game like this is to be able to control the game better against a team that can pose a threat on the counter-attack like Leipzig. You have to be able to do that.”
With only one additional point, PSG’s position is now in second place with a collection of 8 points. They were evicted by Manchester City who successfully rose to first place after defeating Club Brugge with a score of 4-1.
When asked how he felt about being at the top of being overthrown by Man City, Pochettino said he was normal. The manager has ensured that his team will reclaim the top spot when they travel to City on matchday five later this month.
“It doesn’t change anything. We must have the will to ensure a ticket in the knockout stages when we go to Manchester,” he concluded.
