Mauricio Pochettino is targeted by many European clubs
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Since being fired by Tottenham Hotspur and being replaced by Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino is still unemployed. Some European clubs are watching him.
According to news cited by Calciomercato from The Sun, three European clubs are currently monitoring Pochettino to try to recruit him. The three clubs are Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Arsenal.
Pochettino, 47, left Tottenham after five years coaching the North London club from mid-2014-2019. Despite making the team a contestant in the Champions League and occupying the top four in the Premier League, the team’s poor performance this season cannot save his career.
Pochettino’s strengths are the use of the players in his squad, plus orbiting young players and combining them with entertaining and offensive games. That is a plus for interested clubs.
Arsenal, despite rivals Tottenham in North London, is allegedly considering Pochettino as an option because Unai Emery has not been able to lift the team from inconsistency in play. Arsenal is without a win in six consecutive matches in all competitions.
Emery’s fate is on the edge like Lucien Favre at Borussia Dortmund. Last season Dortmund performed well – although they still lost to Bayern in the hunt for the Bundesliga title, the team’s performance has declined this season.
As for Bayern Munich, club officials are still looking for potential permanent coaches after firing Niko Kovac. Bayern will first evaluate the performance of Hans-Dieter Flick, Bayern’s interim coach, before deciding whether to contact Pochettino or not.
