DBasia.news – Maurizio Sarri was one of the best coaches of SSC Napoli. Last season, he broke the point record for a season.

With the smoking coach, Napoli led the 2017-2018 Serie A standing for a long time before the take over of Juventus FC. Unfortunately, Sarri’s journey with Napoli didn’t have the happy ending.

As time goes by, his relationship with the president Aurelio De Laurentiis was worsening. The worst moment was when De Laurentiis appointed Carlo Ancelotti and Sarri was unable to move due to the contract clause in Napoli.

Eventually, De Laurentiis released Sarri to work in the England Premier League team, Chelsea. But during the recent interview, Sarri hasn’t forgiven De Laurentiis.

Now, he explained that he knew that he was sacked as the coach of Napoli from the media, not from the president himself. “It’s true, I found out that I wasn’t the Napoli Coach anymore by seeing it on television,” Sarri told Il Mattino newspaper.

“I had some doubts, that’s fair, but there was a clause in the contract and it wasn’t something I had asked for. Now I hope that Ancelotti can achieve what I came so close to (Scudetto),” Sarri added.

In this opportunity, Sarri also mentioned that De Laurentiis was the one with the most responsibility for selling Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus in 2016. Due to this transfer, Higuain was mentioned as the traitor by Napoli’s supporters.

“Higuain isn’t a traitor and didn’t betray anyone. His problem was purely with the President (De Laurentiis),” Sarri explained.

Despite his disappointment to De Laurentiis, the former Empoli coach felt blessed for the chance to lead Napoli. Specifically, he loved the son of the president, Edoardo De Laurentiis.
