Maurizio Sarri: Juventus Experiencing Mental Declining Problems
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Juventus’ defeat against AS Roma was a big highlight. The coach, Maurizio Sarri, said his team were experiencing mental decline.
Two goals from Diego Perotti and one goal by Nikola Kalinic ended Juventus’ undefeated record at home to Serie A. Their defense is also fragile.
Although he no longer determines any results and Sarri plays many young players, resting superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, the defeat is feared to affect the club’s confidence to fight Olympique Lyonnais in the Champions League.
“A little fear is good for us. After the game against Lazio we felt the league had been won and then suffered a mental decline,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.
“Now we have to have to be good again to see the opponent’s consideration. We will start from behind 0-1 and it will be difficult in the current conditions,” he added.
The intention of Sarri’s remarks is the current situation between Juventus and Olympique Lyonnais. Juventus lost 0-1 in the first 16 leg which took place in France and the second leg took place in Turin on Saturday (08/08).
“I watched Lyon for most of their matches against PSG and was surprised at how good their fitness level was,” Sarri added.
“The problem with this completely anomalous situation is that we don’t know how they will affect the team. I don’t know whether we will be in better condition or they will do it.”
“What’s important is assessing our own season and not what people think outside. I don’t believe that those who preceded me had a bad season because they didn’t win the Champions League.”
“Considering all the problems we face in this term, we can easily lose the Scudetto, so we are happy to win,” Sarri concluded.
